By no means should dogs of this breed be kept on a chain or in a small apartment. If not given enough mental and physical exercises, these dogs become bored and tend to develop health and behavior disorders. If the owner cannot spend much time playing with a dog, keeping several dogs in a yard will help. These dogs are slow to mature. It may take up to 3 years for a puppy to develop its potential.
